Detectives Still Looking For Missing Santa Clarita Woman (W/ Video)
A Search and Rescue Team with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was not able to locate any trace of Sarah Alarid, 19, of Canyon Country, or her vehicle, said Tony Buttitta, coordinator for the Sheriff's Station's search team Saturday.
"Right now, the homicide detectives are out here and they're talking to people. They've organized a bunch of her friends and family in the Sand Canyon area and they're going door to door," Buttitta said.
Alarid, 19, of Santa Clarita was last seen leaving a party on New Year's Day in her silver Ford Focus hatchback, license plate No. 4WXE737.

"We never really had any good information to go on (for Sarah's whereabouts)," Buttitta said. "If we could find her car, we'd have a search area. Today, we had nine horses from the mounted posses and about nine people on the ground in trucks. The reason (we're searching Sand Canyon) is that she used to live up here, her dad's a firefighter up here and she knows the area real well."
Detectives have searched several locations with the assistance of the Santa Clarita Valley Station Search and Rescue Team and the LASD Aero Bureau throughout Friday. Detectives are currently conducting interviews and are following leads in the investigation.
In addition to posters that have been put up throughout the east side of Santa Clarita, where she was last seen leaving a party alone around 3 a.m. on New Year's Day, friends and family conducted a Santa Clarita Valley-wide search Friday .
"Basically, we have a bunch of friends and family out looking for her," said Sarah Alarid's uncle Brian Alarid. "Definitely, it's out of character for her."
